Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of a broad range of Technology and Business consulting services. We are in search of a highly motivated candidate to join our talented Team. Job Title: Saw Setup & Run Operator - 2nd Shift. Location: Hamilton, OH. Job Summary:
  • Set up and operate saws per print for customer orders in a timely manner for production purposes, while complying with current ISO requirements, all safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate saws to achieve requirements of the print specifications, shop order, and inspection charts.
  • Perform at a level to maintain production standards.
  • May be required to work at any workstation to meet production requirements.
  • Inspect product to assure continued conformance to specifications using calipers, tape measures, and squares.
  • When required, perform rework to nonconforming products.
  • Complete all documentation associated with the operation.
  • Maintain the workstation area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • May be required to train any new employee assigned to the area.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
  • Successfully complete:
    • Safety Training.
    • Quality Training.
    • ISO Training.
  • Understand the saws operation and where it fits into the manufacturing process.
  • Understand the importance of stopping the operation when a question or problem arises. When in doubt, DO NOT CONTINUE. ASK QUESTIONS.
  • Know how to perform daily maintenance duties and related documents.
  • Demonstrate how to start the machine.
  • Identify the locations of emergency stops.
  • Identify the location of safety guards and their proper operation.
  • Identify machine cycles and understand the function of the control panel.
  • Demonstrate how to adjust rams and blades.
  • Demonstrate the proper adjustment of material stops and clamps.
  • Demonstrate how to use measuring tools, including calipers, angle gauge, and tape measures, for this process.
  • Demonstrate how to load material into the machine.
  • Understand all quality requirements and how to complete all the associated paperwork.
  • Know how to properly and safely stack parts.
  • Understand the routing of the product, especially the next operation.
  • Demonstrate how to shut down the machine.
Preferred Skills:
  • Language Skills - Good communication skills are key. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Experience working with consolidations.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Need to be able to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have.
  • Other Skills and Abilities - Must be detail-oriented. It must be organized and can meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   • Education and/or experience - High school diploma or GED preferred. Employees must be able to perform basic reading, writing, and mathematical functions.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read and write. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memorandums, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills - Basic mathematical skills are required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Computer knowledge - NA.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration - None required for this position.
  • Physical Requirements - The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color, distance, peripheral, and ability to adjust focus.
