Job Purpose

The EHS Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves conducting safety audits, training employees on safe work practices and requirements, analyzing risks, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

2. Maintain applicable environmental permits (i.e. stormwater, air and wastewater).

3. Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify and correct potential hazards.

4. Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing compliance programs to include annual refresher courses.

5. Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, create and respond to Accountability tags associated with these incidents/accidents and recommend corrective actions.

6. Maintain EHS Documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), injury logs, permits, and compliance reports.

7. Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.

8. Serve as the point of contact for external EHS Audits and inspections.

9. Track and analyze EHS performance metrics (KPI's) to drive continuous improvements.

10. Promote employee engagement and awareness around safety initiatives and best practices

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

* 2+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

* Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance standards

* Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS Management System (SAI 360EHS)

* Certification(s) such as OSHA 30-Hour, HAZWOPER, or First Aid/CPR are a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies. Good written and oral communication skills, with ability to respond to provide requested documents.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage; with ability to develop and interpret graphs used for presentations or reports.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Ability to prioritize assignments/projects.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
