What It Takes to Master the Machines as a CNC Machine Operator

• 1 year of experience.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Capable of lifting and handling heavy steel components with or without assistance.
• Comfortable working in a hot, noisy, and industrial steel plant environment.
• Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, or weekends as required.
• Preferred Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Experience in machining large steel components.
• Preferred Familiarity with plant maintenance and repair operations.

What Your Workday Looks Like

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and horizontal grinders to machine steel and alloy components
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Perform layout work using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
• Machine parts to specified tolerances and verify dimensional accuracy
• Repair, modify, and rebuild worn or damaged plant equipment components
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in safe, clean, and operational condition
• Follow all plant safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, engineering, and production teams
• Document work performed and report issues or deviations as required
