NS2 Mission is building a proactive bench of Software and Systems Engineering professionals to support current and future mission programs. This open bench requisition is used to identify candidates aligned to multiple Software Engineer and Systems Engineer LCATs, including those not immediately tied to funded positions. Qualified candidates may be considered for upcoming mission-critical opportunities as program needs arise. Positions supported by this bench may be located throughout Northern Virginia, including Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, and Tysons Corner, VA, depending on mission requirements. NS2 Mission is looking for engineers capable of operating across software development, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, and mission integration within secure, high-tempo environments. Required Skills & Responsibilities Agile & Program Execution
- Lead and support Agile/Scrum teams through sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Translate mission and customer requirements into features, user stories, and technical deliverables
- Coordinate across engineering, security, and operations teams to manage dependencies and technical risks
- Support governance activities, stakeholder engagement, and program reporting
Software Engineering, DevOps & Cloud
- Design and develop full-stack applications and RESTful APIs using modern frameworks
- Build responsive web and backend services using Java, Python, Node.js, Spring Boot, Golang, and related technologies
- Maintain and modernize legacy applications for scalability, performance, and security
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation using Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and scripting tools
- Design, deploy, and manage hybrid and cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Support containerized platforms, Kubernetes, virtualization, and VDI environments
Systems, Network & Data Engineering
- Configure and maintain secure LAN/WAN environments, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols
- Design and support secure system architectures integrating COTS, GOTS, and custom solutions
- Build and manage ETL pipelines, data models, and analytics platforms
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and visualization tools using Tableau, Elasticsearch, and custom solutions
Architecture, Security & Accreditation
- Design and support microservices, event-driven, and distributed system architectures
- Implement fault tolerance, high availability, and system resiliency
- Support RMF, A&A, ICD-503, and ATO lifecycle activities
- Apply FISMA controls, manage POA&Ms, and support vulnerability remediation
- Harden cloud, endpoint, and mobile systems against cyber threats
Mobile, Geospatial & Mission Support
- Develop and support mobile applications using secure mobile frameworks
- Integrate GIS, ATAK, and geospatial data workflows into enterprise systems
- Support field operations, secure communications, and mobile readiness
Documentation, Training & Communication
- Develop SOPs, CONOPS, system architecture diagrams, and technical documentation
- Deliver executive briefings, sprint reports, and stakeholder updates
- Support knowledge management platforms and collaboration tools
- Provide technical support, training, onboarding, and operational readiness support, including on-call coverage as required
