Job Summary

The HRIS Business Analyst at FIU is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting HR information systems, with a focus on PeopleSoft and related platforms. This role involves managing system queries, document templates, and security roles, ensuring accurate data extraction and reporting for HR operations, payroll, benefits, and recruitment processes. Analysts collaborate with development teams to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The position emphasizes data-driven decision-making, process automation, and continuous improvement to support organizational effectiveness. The analyst also plays a key role in user access management, workflow configuration, and integration of business intelligence tools to enhance HR service delivery and operational transparency.

  • Administer and provide technical support for FIU's HRIS platforms, including PeopleSoft (Base Benefits, Payroll for North America, Core HR, ePerformance), Perceptive Content, SharePoint, and Power BI.
  • Ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze, document, and optimize HR business processes to enhance efficiency and user experience, leveraging current market best practices and digital transformation trends.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using PeopleSoft workflow, BI Publisher, and integration with other FIU systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance HR dashboards and reports using Power BI and SQL Server, providing actionable insights for decision-making. Develop and utilize PeopleSoft queries to generate custom reports for modules such as Payroll, Base Benefits, TAM and ePerformance, ensuring data-driven HR management.
  • Configure and maintain PeopleSoft modules (Base Benefits, Payroll for North America, Core HR, ePerformance) to support HR operations, including annual updates (e.g., IRS contribution limits, payroll calendar), and module-specific enhancements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new features, ensuring alignment with FIU's strategic goals and compliance standards.
  • Create and update user guides, training materials, and functional documentation for HRIS systems, including SharePoint and Perceptive Content workflows. Conduct training sessions for HR staff and end-users to promote effective system utilization and adoption of new functionalities.
  • Manage user access requests and security roles within PeopleSoft, SharePoint, and related HRIS platforms, ensuring appropriate access controls and audit compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Work closely with HRIS members, Payroll, Benefits, and Records teams to coordinate system changes, testing, and data validation, especially during annual processes and regulatory updates.
  • Serves as primary contact for Conflict of Interest application support and development.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for all Perceptive Content related issues/requests.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, IT, and business units to ensure successful project delivery and system integration.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related field and two (2) years of experience in HRIS or related field.


Departmental Requirements
  • Must have at least one year of design, development and reporting experience with ERP HR systems (e.g. Peoplesoft, Workday, SAP.)


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing complex queries using PS Query.
  • Knowledge of Peoplesoft 9.2 Based Benefits, TL, Payroll, Position Management, and ePerformance Modules.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, concepts and practices.
