Could you be the full-time onsite Engineering Manager in Newark, NJ, US (Newark Liberty International Airport) we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping engineering strategies and driving technical excellence within the organization. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Alstom customer - Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, site team - Safety, Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Project Management, and internal teams such as Services, Engineering, Procurement, Quality), manage engineering resources and performance, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Collaborating with the customer, site team, Alstom Services Engineering / Quality to ensure the system remains safe and reliable to the contractual standards established to support passenger transportation at Newark Liberty International Airport,



  • Maintaining and developing your team's engineering skills and competencies,



  • Supporting the Configuration and Design Change Management of the Newark Air Train,



  • Managing the technical performance of Newark Air Train and providing REX (Return of Experience) to relevant Services Platforms,



  • Supporting cost reduction actions in collaboration with Procurement and Project Management teams,



  • Detecting, defining, and implementing modifications to the Newark Air Train system, including rolling stock, power distribution, guideway, and automatic train control, to maintain and improve reliability and serviceability,



  • Reducing project costs and enhancing system performance,



  • Participating actively in the Alstom Services Engineering network,



  • Supporting the implementation and update of engineering risk mitigation plans,



  • Ensuring alignment with Alstom's values of leadership, resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning"

  • - Bachelor's Degree in Railway Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or another related field. ,- 3 years' experience of Airport Automatic People Mover (APM) systems, Light Rail passenger systems, or Railways system/Application engineering. ,- Knowledge of rolling stock, power distribution, guideway, automatic train control systems, equipment, and maintenance. ,- Proficient in communication and negotiation skills. ,- Leadership and engineering team management skills. ,- Problem-solving capacity (technical and cost evaluation of a solution). ,- Capacity for managing technical risks. ,- Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment. ,- Proficiency in the use of MS Office, SAP.
