We pride ourselves on competitive cost structure, exceptional on-time delivery, and industry-leading quality.

The Pursuit family of companies has cultivated long-term relationships with our customers around the world through respect, teamwork, technology, and trust. We are driven to develop industry leading process innovations and manufacturing techniques on behalf of our customers. Our exceptional quality is driven by a deep investment in and the daily practice of continually improving our people, processes, and products.

About the Opportunity:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern role provides hands-on exposure to aerospace component manufacturing in a high-mix, low-volume environment specializing in complex formed sheet metal engine components. Interns are paired with experienced Manufacturing Engineer mentors and directly support production, process, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Interns are expected to spend significant time working on the shop floor Genba, applying engineering fundamentals in real-world scenarios. Learning occurs through hands-on experimentation and trystorming, defined as rapid, practical problem-solving through direct trial and iteration in the manufacturing environment. This internship is structured to provide meaningful technical experience while supporting the Company's long-term talent pipeline into full-time engineering and operations roles.

Location: Eastford, CT

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineering mentors, interns will support a range of engineering and operational activities, including:

  • Supporting manufacturing process development, documentation, and continuous improvement for aerospace sheet metal components.
  • Working on the Genba to troubleshoot production issues and support corrective action implementation.
  • Participating in Kaizen workshops and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Developing and maintaining work instructions, process flows, standard work, and visual controls.
  • Supporting engineering changes and coordinating with quality and operations teams.
  • Using CAD systems to create, modify, and review part models, tooling, fixtures, and layouts.
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to yield, scrap, cycle time, and process performance.
  • Applying Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Gaining hands-on experience on the Genba with CNC machines, lasers, forming presses, inspection tooling, and related equipment.
