Pay Details

The pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and is set at $17.95 per hour.

Job Description

The Garage Maintenance staff is responsible for keeping the garage clean, safe, and presentable. This position focuses on housekeeping tasks, minor repairs, and general upkeep. No technical expertise is required, and all training will be provided. The role involves frequent walking, standing, and physical labor.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Cleaning



  • Sweep, mop, and clean garage floors, stairwells, and walkways.
  • Empty trash cans and remove debris throughout the facility.
  • Pressure wash surfaces when needed.
  • Clean windows, railings, signs, and common areas.
  • Clean shuttle buses


Minor Repairs & General Upkeep



  • Perform simple repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, touching up paint, or cleaning spill areas.
  • Report damages, safety concerns, or equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks as assigned.


Safety & Operational Support



  • Keep pathways, entrances, and parking areas free of hazards.
  • Assist with snow removal, shoveling, and salting during winter months (if applicable).
  • Follow all safety rules and contribute to a clean, orderly environment.
  • Support garage staff with general tasks as needed.


Key Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clean driving record
  • Flexible schedule (to include weekends and holidays)
  • No technical experience required; training provided.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods throughout the shift.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Basic communication skills.
  • Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area. Relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite.


    Working Conditions



    • Primarily walking and standing in a garage environment
    • Indoor/outdoor conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, and weather
    • Weekend, evening, holidays, or overtime work depending on operational needs
