Econolite has been a market leader in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry for decades, with an impressive portfolio of Traffic Controller and Detection / Sensor products for the ITS market. To help us maintain our leadership position in the market and take our portfolio of products to new heights, we are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to own and guide the Traffic Controller and Detection / Sensor product lines at Econolite.

The ideal candidate will have strategic vision, business acumen, technical savvy, domain and industry knowledge, and have proven experience in working closely with Engineering to help commercialize product ideas and bring them to market. We are looking for a dynamic product leader who has worked as a product manager in the past and can help build a comprehensive strategic product vision and enable the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance Econolite's market position and business.

DUTIES:

  • Provide product management leadership for Econolite's Traffic Controller and Detection/Sensor product suites, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap based on market trends, operational needs, ROI analyses, and strategic considerations.
  • Lead and work closely with product managers for each product line to develop market intelligence, competitive product standing and differentiation, and develop/manage a rolling three-year product strategy and business plan.
  • Work closely with Engineering to provide crisp product requirements and feature priorities and facilitate the release of innovative products and product features in a timely manner.
  • Engage with key customers and channel partners to understand the market, competitive positions, and own a plan to increase market share and profitability over time.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to develop and maintain compelling product collateral and drive/support active product campaigns.
  • Provide leadership to RFP/RFI review and response processes.
  • Constantly review and assess technologies and technology advancements/trends and actively consider incorporating new technologies into products.
  • Represent Econolite at industry trade shows and conferences, championing our products and providing thought leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Engineering, Software Development, Business, or another applicable field
  • Strong proven experience in owning and guiding comprehensive product strategy and product management for safety-critical products involving hardware and software
  • 10+ years of experience in the ITS industry with a strong focus on traffic management/control technologies and related hardware/software products
  • Strong strategic vision, business acumen, financial understanding, technical savvy, and proven experience in working closely with Engineering to help commercialize product ideas and bring them to market in a timely manner
  • Proven experience in market research, product differentiation, and product positioning
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working with executive corporate leadership, key external entities, and external product/business partners
  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly, high sense of urgency, determination, and focus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., test equipment or hardware prototypes).
  • May require standing, bending, or reaching during hardware setup or lab testing.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $170,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
