Position Summary This position is responsible for accurate and timely external financial reporting, managing the Company's technical accounting application and implementation, and leading centralized corporate accounting activities, including consolidation. The position is also responsible for all SEC filings and ensuring all accounting and disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP and other disclosure requirements. This position works closely with cross-functional teams including segment Controllership, Finance, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, HR, and Legal on key initiatives and projects impacting accounting and to continually improve accounting processes and reporting. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring effective financial reporting and disclosure controls and coordinating and managing the external audit process with independent accountants. Responsibilities Financial Reporting
Lead the coordination and preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 11-K, Proxy, etc.) and related support (earnings release and investor and Board presentations). Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and other applicable standards. Partner with external auditors and manage audit activities related to public filings. Direct and manage execution of statutory financial reporting requirements and filings, including coordination with internal teams and external auditors.
Technical Accounting
Proactively stay abreast of SEC and U.S. GAAP technical accounting and reporting requirements and lead research, application and implementation of matters impacting the Company. Draft technical accounting memos and ensure proper documentation for significant transactions, accounting policies, and other events as needed. Partner with finance management and other business leaders to address technical accounting topics. Advise on accounting implications of business activities, acquisitions and other strategic projects. Lead periodic training sessions through the organization to educate and improve awareness on technical accounting matters.
Corporate Accounting & Consolidation
Oversee monthly and quarterly close process for corporate entities and consolidated results. Manage intercompany eliminations and consolidation of global subsidiaries. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and supporting schedules. Maintain and improve centralized accounting practices and application of policies, including responsibility for equity compensation, contingencies, impairment analysis, capitalized costs, lease accounting and purchase accounting, among other areas. Monitor effective application of accounting policies across the organization. Actively participate in both formal and informal reviews with segment finance and accounting teams, various corporate functions, and accounting operations to ensure financial transactions and financial statement disclosures are complete and accurate. Oversee the design, monitoring and maintenance of strong financial controls related to key accounting areas, financial close and reporting.
Other Responsibilities
Drive process improvement and automation initiatives for reporting, consolidation and accounting activities. Mentor and develop team members within the accounting and reporting function. Assist Corporate Controller and CFO in special projects/tasks as assigned.
Education and Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with CPA designation. 8+ years progressive accounting experience, including SEC-related financial reporting, Big 4 public accounting and corporate financial reporting experience. Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive financial projects simultaneously and operate under pressure to meet all deadlines. Superior communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders and partners. Ability to research, document, communicate and report technical accounting issues. Manage and develop team members. Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement and drive effective and efficient financial processes and activities.
