Join ourSystems Planning and Architecture (SPARC)team within Microsoft's Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure(AHSI)organization and be a part of theorganization behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. Microsoft delivers more than 200 online services to more than one billion individuals worldwide and AHSI is the team behind our expanding cloud infrastructure. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud businesses including Microsoft Azure, Bing, MSN, Office 365, OneDrive, Skype, Teams and Xbox Live.

The SPARC organization manages Azure's hardware roadmap from architecture concept through production for all of Microsoft's current and future on-line services. You will be involved with all phases of product development, from design through manufacturing and supply chain, and into high scale deployment. You'll work closely with our engineers and architects, and also our peer teams (including Azure Core, Azure Security, and SCHIE) to plan and deliver solutions into the fleet leveraging well-known processes we've used to deliver new capabilities into Azure.

We are looking for aPrincipal Hardware Product Manager to join our team!

• Collaboratewith customers and partner organizations to drive a hardware accelerator and server infrastructure initiative for Azure data centers.
• Identifyand prioritize customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive gaps, and translate them into clear and actionable product requirements and specifications.
• Lead the strategic product vision and drive internal alignment among wide-ranging cross-functional stakeholders to define the hardware technology platform plan of record.
• Lead technical programs from concept to execution, collaborating with architecture, engineering and business teams to develop and drive end-to-end product development.
• Establish platform and front end network prioritization strategies based on workload analysis. Track dependencies across SoC, OS, agents, networking, and telemetry. Work closely with supply teams to mitigate risks related to hardware availability and timeline shifts.
• Engage with senior leadership, highlighting risksacross functional teamsand providing recommendations to support product level decisions.
• Operate effectively in ambiguity. Apply process where it creates value, and design process where it's needed. Recognize the situations where each approach is most appropriate.

Required/minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in HW accelerator programs or a product manager
• 7+ years of technical product management experience, including products within datacenter Hardware systems and/or Cloud infrastructure.
• 7+years experiencecreating product roadmap(s) from conception to launch, driving end-to-end program execution, defining product go-to-market strategy, and leading program direction discussions.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Communication skills, including the ability to build compelling internal/external presentations and technology-focused whitepapers, and comprehensive business review materials as well as the ability to translate abstract thoughts, key themes and tactics into understandable messages for broad consumption.
• Demonstrableknowledge and depth of security concepts, especially those pertaining to Cloud / Server architectures and business models.
• Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills.
• Superior judgment, team building, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure required.
• Proven experience in effective cross group, cross company, and cross industry collaboration.
• Personal maturity, i.e. lives and models Microsoft values.
• Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment with a highly organized, process-focused aptitude.
• Demonstrated problem solving and negotiating skills; the ability to deal with conflict and multiple constituencies and manage multiple simultaneous objectives is imperative.
• Must be conversant in software and hardware architectures. Includes knowledge of the component technologies (networking, silicon, storage, memory, etc.) in the hardware industry.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
