Willdan Lighting & Electric, a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking a Project Engineer I in New York, NY. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to program teams and ensure proper & timely follow up to complete requests.
- Process requests and work with teams to build future requirements for new tools and features.
- Preparing savings calculations in spreadsheets and whole building energy modeling programs (eQUEST, EnergyPro etc.)
- Create and manage projects to closure, with timely, efficient and pleasant follow up.
- Review and provide QA/QC feedback on a large volume of projects, develop clear QA/QC checklists and methodologies to handle project reviews from multiple regions.
- Build rapport and provide details and feedback from the team.
- Assist in communicating technical results to the client and team.
- Strive to maintain project scope of work intent, schedule, performance and budget.
- Research and assessment of new EE technologies.
- Establish engineering design criteria for selected EE technologies.
- Develop customer proposals to implement recommendations.
- Review inspection photos or videos installations of new energy efficient measures, and review on-site inspection procedures.
- May be required to attend occasional on-site inspections to review installations.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in any of the following: engineering analysis, energy auditing, design, commissioning, retro-commissioning or similar analysis of different buildings types.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and basic knowledge of energy modeling software, i.e. eQuest.
- A basic understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems, including building envelope, HVAC, advanced controls, plumbing and other energy consuming systems.
