This Position reports to:

Product Engineering & Quality Manager

In this role, you will ensure superior customer experience by solving the most challenging issues from customer sites globally - during the whole product life cycle in ABB Motion High Power (System Drives).

The work model for the role is: Hybrid; New Berlin, WI

This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Division.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Lead technical investigations collaboratively and propose suitable solution packages. Communicate plans and progress effectively, and implement site solutions in a timely manner.

  • Proactively and systematically prevent issues by applying learnings from customer sites and conducting data analysis across the installed base.

  • Analyze monthly warranty reports for MV System Drives and collaborate with the global team to reduce field failures and increase product availability.

  • Communicate product updates to Field Service teams in the field.

  • Maintain and improve the data quality of the installed base to ensure greater transparency and more meaningful analytics.

  • Enhance troubleshooting and decision-making through a data-driven approach.

  • Simplify and optimize processes for internal and external collaboration.

  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, procurement, and global teams to align strategies and ensure quality.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor of Electrical or Electronics Engineering Degree required.

  • 5+ years of experience with Power Electronics equipment, medium voltage drives is a plus.

  • Experience in field service is a plus.

  • Strong focus on safety practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.

  • Ability to prioritize your tasks correctly and to stay focused with resilience in a dynamic environment and ability to work independently.

  • Motivation and passion for the position, a customer-centric and collaborative mindset.

  • Strong problem-solving and good communication skills.

  • Travel up to 10% required.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
