Job Description Summary

As Enterprise Community Development ("ECD") has continued to grow in both size and complexity, so have our needs for a robust financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function. Along those lines, Enterprise is happy to announce our search for this newly created position. We are looking for a highly strategic person who brings financial acumen and who helps ensure we plan and align our financial resources for financial and mission success. The individual must be able to link financial results and analysis to the organization's strategic priorities and be able to clearly communicate and present it. This includes assistance with preparation of committee and board presentations. We are also looking for someone that can review our current FP&A processes and tools, identify areas of weakness, and drive process and efficiency improvements. This person will also analyze and understand the results of ECD from both a financial and operational perspective to help drive strategic business decisions.

The Director, FP&A position will be responsible for overseeing our FP&A function for ECD. In doing so, the Director, FP&A will ensure ECD leadership is provided accurate forecasts and insightful financial analysis of the performance of the business. The position will also be responsible for helping refine and maintain a multi-year outlook. In addition, the Director, FP&A will help drive process improvements in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, KPIs, and analysis. He/she will bring insightful analysis, process, reporting, metrics, and disciplined control to drive our operating results.

The Director, FP&A will join ECD's finance team and will report to the Senior Vice President, Finance, and will have high visibility with the ECD leadership team. As a key member of ECD's corporate finance team, the Director, FP&A will be challenged to lead high-level organization wide key performance indicator (KPI) reporting to hands-on operational activities such as, financial modeling, forecasting, project profitability analysis, etc. The ideal candidate will have an operational orientation and will lead in an entrepreneurial, resourceful manner, consistently delivering targeted results.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of annual budgets, multi-year projections, forecasting throughout the year, long-term capital and liquidity planning and associated reporting.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and other operating metrics and financial ratios; seek and obtain applicable industry benchmarks. Assist in translating business goals into performance measures. Track such performance measures including metrics related to ECD's 5-year sustainability plan.
  • Support efforts to build a narrative around financial performance that leverages our financial reporting tools and builds on in-depth financial data - "telling the story" of our operating results, including reporting to senior management, board and board committees.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
  • Analyze results, perform variance analyses, identify trends, sourcing, cost reduction and other recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop relationships with ECD's department leads and assist with preparation of budgets and financial projections for such cost centers.
  • Support the finance team leads in the effort to drive P&L and cashflow management strategies.
  • Oversee the ongoing ongoing use/maintenance and security of financial reporting tools including Excel, PowerBI and Workday Adaptive, among others, in coordination with the Information Technology and Finance teams.
  • Work with Senior Vice President, Finance and Finance counterparts on various ad hoc financial analyses.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience preferred, with minimum 5 years in corporate financial, planning and analysis role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or other relevant degree required.
  • MBA degree a plus.
  • Experience in the design, creation, and management of complex, financial, capital and KPI measures.
  • Demonstrated experience with written and oral communication skills and ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present findings to all levels of management, including proficiency in the presentation of financial analysis to the CEO and ideally Board of Directors
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, with an ability to independently research presented problem and suggest solutions/treatments.
  • Effective project management skills. Must be strong in the areas of critical thinking and decision-making, analytical problem solving, business astuteness, and process orientation skills.
  • Strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing staff, and strong skills in areas of coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback a plus.
  • Experience with companywide training and change management related to new reporting, analytics, and finance tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects).
  • Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong ethics and professionalism in interpersonal relations and work as an effective team member.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling tools such as Workday, Adaptive and Yardi, a plus.
  • Leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience with demonstrated examples of impact.

The base salary for this role is $130,000 to $140,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
