Specialist, Product Solutions

Reports To: Director, Product Solutions

Position Summary:

Serves as product specification and application expert to support our dealer partners and sales team through the provision of specification services and consultation on product application and specification generally and on specific projects. Under the direction of the Director, Specialists are responsible for completing drawings and specification work as assigned, timely, accurately, and advantageously positioning Teknion product solutions against the competition.

Will be required to interface with internal and external sales, architects, designers, and project managers to ensure that the Teknion product is applied and specified as intended to meet the design intent and the base building requirements within the Teknion application criteria and guidelines.

This remote role requires a strong self-starter with proactive communication skills to be successful.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Complete drawing and specification work accurately and within established timeframe as assigned by the Director or Team Lead.
• Maintain knowledge of product, software, and process to successfully orchestrate project and dealer services - participate in live webinars and study specification/launch documents.
  • Self-led and as assigned by Director or Team Lead.
• Respond to dealer specification questions as received.
• Complete dealer audit requests as assigned by the Team Lead or Director.

• Focus on outstanding customer service, meeting and managing deadlines and managing projects independently.
• Organize and maintain project files consistent with department standards.

• Adhere to established Product Solutions Team processes and procedures for completing project work and dealer support services.
• Provide ongoing input and suggestions regarding continuous Product Solutions Team improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Product Solutions Team on accurate specification work to support projects and dealer support services.
• Collaborate with Product Solutions Team members on daily tasks.
• Participate in the production and presentation of specification training content in conjunction with other team members.
• Contribute to Teknion's CET initiative through the User Advisory Team, as part of the team's error reporting responsibilities, and other tasks as assigned by the Director and CET Liaison.
• Utilize creative and innovative planning and visualization skills to generate inspirational content for projects and internal initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skill, and Educational Requirements

• Four-year college degree in Design or related field. Relevant experience considered in lieu of required degree.
• Minimum five years' industry specification experience required. Minimum three years' Teknion specification experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• Knowledge of Google Suite and CET preferred, with the enthusiasm to learn new applications.
• Must have excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and must be detail oriented.
• Able to tolerate stress surrounding demanding project deadlines.
• Substantial understanding of overall design and building process.
• Excellent communication skills with extensive experience in customer interactions and presentations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
• Willingness to collaborate intensely with other team members to achieve team goals.
• Competitive spirit to engage Teknion's portfolio to realize organizational priorities through increased win rates.
• Ability to travel 10-15%, as needed.
