| Position Summary |
The Department of Orthopedics at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time pediatric orthopedic fellowship-trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with responsibilities for patient care, education, scholarly activity, outreach, and involvement in the fellowship program. Rank and salary are dependent on experience. This position seeks to expand our current division of 5 pediatric orthopedic surgeons and 3 non-surgical providers which serves a rapidly growing population in North Carolina.
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill is the single tertiary referral center for pediatric orthopedics within the state public health system with a commitment to provide superb clinical care while maintaining our strong tradition of reaching underserved populations. In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice, the candidate will be invested in on-campus academic activities that include fellow, resident, and medical student education, as well as basic science research, clinical research, and service line development. Interest in neuromuscular disorders, limb deformity, and general pediatric orthopedics is preferred.
The clinical practice will be in Chapel Hill and possibly additional outreach clinics within the state, with surgical cases primarily performed at
UNC Hospitals Children's Hospital or the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position will cover call at
UNC Hospitals Main Campus for both adult and pediatric patients.
Ideal Candidate:
- Orthopedic Surgeon who has completed a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics
- Strong interest in research and training
- Current NC medical licensure, or the ability to obtain license
- Board Certified or Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
This position requires a M.D. or D.O. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible and able to obtain licensure in the State of North Carolina. |
