Position Overview

This highly motivated professional focuses on the long-term strategic development and optimization of business and commercial sales products and functions. The responsibilities include business development, overall growth and performance, relationship building, member retention, management, and team development. This sales management role will personally carry a portfolio of business and new prospects while contributing to the performance of Business Services and Summit by being an advisor, leader, and motivator to ensure employee engagement, member service, and positive business performance. This sales leader will collaborate closely with other departments, including servicing, processing, and closing to ensure seamless communication, timely turnarounds, and a positive member experience. This individual will translate the credit union's mission, vision, and business strategies into everyday action and results.

Selection Criteria



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.


  • 10 years or more of experience in commercial banking and 5 years or more in a leadership role; or combination of applicable work experience and education.


  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the management of other people managers.


  • Proven track record of successfully growing a commercial banking portfolio as an individual contributor and leader.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • In-depth knowledge of commercial banking products and services.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategies.


  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.


  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.


  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
