Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent plus 12 years of professional experience to include 5 years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field.
10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in higher education and specifically health professions education.
Record of leadership in an integrated healthcare delivery system
Service in a prior role leading or supporting the successful accreditation or endorsement of a simulation center (e.g., SSH Accreditation, INACSL Endorsement).
Position Summary
The Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Operations serves as the senior administrative leader and principal strategic partner to the Founding Dean of the UGA School of Nursing. This role is responsible for designing, building, and overseeing the comprehensive administrative, operational, financial, human resources, and infrastructure systems required to successfully launch and sustain a new academic unit within the University of Georgia. The position provides high-level leadership across business operations, facilities and space planning, staff workforce development, simulation and educational technology infrastructure, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. Working in close collaboration with academic leaders, university partners, and external stakeholders, the Senior Associate Dean ensures the School is positioned for long-term growth, operational excellence, and statewide impact.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Record of leadership in an integrated healthcare delivery system
  • A successful history of launching new academic programs, clinical education structures, or major institutional initiatives.
  • Knowledge of clinical education operations, healthcare partnerships, or experiential learning systems.
  • Professional certification in simulation education or operations (e.g., CHSE, CHSOS).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in large-scale operations, administrative leadership, financial management, and organizational strategy.
  • Ability to manage and oversee complex educational technology or simulation environments within an academic or healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Expertise in managing capital projects, facilities planning, or technology-rich learning environments.

  • Translate strategic priorities into scalable administrative systems, operational plans, and measurable institutional outcomes.

  • Lead school-wide strategic initiatives, institutional planning efforts, and major projects that advance the School's short- and long-term goals.

  • Oversee site capacity planning, credentialing workflows, and onboarding systems.

  • Lead operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen administrative effectiveness and support the School's strategic growth.

  • Ensure operational readiness to meet SSH Accreditation, INACSL Standards, and NLN guidelines.
