UVA Health, an expansive and integrated health system, is undertaking a major realignment of its financial service delivery model, creating the Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis role to provide focused leadership in centralizing and streamlining core financial operations across the organization. This role will be instrumental in supporting a multi-year effort to modernize financial management, most notably through the implementation of Workday Finance, and will help drive efficiency, eliminate redundancies, and build scalable processes that support long-term growth and savings across all health system entities. Reporting to UVA Health's Chief Financial Officer, this key strategic leader will guide the integration of finance functions, strengthen shared services, and advance systemwide initiatives that enable more unified, transparent, and data-driven financial operations across UVA Health. The Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis will join UVA Health at a time of significant growth and expansion across Virginia; financial planning and efficiency are primary focus areas.
The Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and leaders across UVA Health, overseeing financial operations and shared services initiatives that drive operational excellence, accuracy, compliance, and fiscal sustainability. This executive role will lead a team responsible for centralized back-office functions for all health system entities, including University Medical Center, Community Health, UVA Physicians Group, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Claude Moore Health Sciences Library. Centralized functions include financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, decision support, cost accounting, health system finance policy, intercompany activity, and other areas, while also partnering across clinical and administrative divisions to implement strategic initiatives, system improvements, and process efficiencies. The Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis ensures finance and shared services are strategically aligned to institutional priorities, optimizing resources, and advancing UVA Health's capabilities in both long-term strategy and arising needs in response to internal, external, and industry-wide dynamics. Competitive candidates are results-driven with strong financial aptitude and well-developed skills in areas including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting/modeling, cost accounting, and decision support. The Chief of Financial Operations, Planning, and Analysis should demonstrate the ability to lead a team within UVA Health and to represent UVA Health with integrity across the wider University enterprise, as needed.
