Job Summary

Leads in the analysis of customer training needs, development and organization of the training service, and delivery of training for assigned applications. Assists leadership with the management of the training life cycle, including needs analysis, training/upgrade strategy and development, and delivery of training. Also responsible for leading change management and communication efforts to enable effective engagement within the information security, governance, and risk domain Masters applications and related workflows to develop audience-specific training infrastructure (including traditional and computer-based curriculum materials); organizes the applicable registration and certification processes; and conducts classroom and one-on-one training. Works closely with project leadership and key customer leaders, to ensure that the training programs are appropriately structured to satisfy a broad range of training audiences and requirements, which may include physicians and other clinical staff. May serve as project manager, providing leadership for the training-related tasks for new implementations and upgrades of systems in area(s) of expertise. Maintains appropriate certifications and credentialing required for technology educators by application vendors and/or licensing mandates. Consistently demonstrates customer service excellence in all situations. Staff members in this position are effective and self-sufficient in working within a diverse training portfolio, and regularly provide guidance to less experienced Information Training Specialists. Seen as a subject matter expert by colleagues on analysis, development, organization, and delivery of customer training, and may also be seen as an expert in the industry outside of the organization. In addition, the Lead Information Systems Training Specialist will be expected to take on additional formal and informal assignments, as directed by leadership.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of information security, governance, and risk training initiatives to a defined group of users.
  • Serves as project manager for related initiatives and ensures that all tasks and documents (including work plans, status reports and risk assessments) are completed by team members. Oversees the training program delivery strategy; the building, testing and maintenance of a capable training environment and the design, assembly, and distribution of course materials. Monitors user and "train the trainer" educational sessions and assists trainers with effective communication and presentation of operational change management for users.
  • Oversees the testing and modification of training materials and ensures that there is communication of relevant changes to users by supporting the design, writing, editing, assembly, and distribution of updated course materials.
  • Leads in the development of training process leadership and quality improvement activities, and acts as a liaison between the customers and DS team to enhance training processes.
  • Meets financial objectives by developing cost-effective educational programs and creating and implementing training effectiveness evaluation tools.
  • Encouraging critical thinking and professional/personal growth, provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced Information Training Specialists, and is accountable as a role model for customer service excellence.
  • Forward-thinking; provides leadership for information systems training approach and delivery, and for user learning strategies and training tools/methods. Understands both the current and future states of the educational process, and can define and articulate pros, cons and recommendations to senior leadership. Seen and used by other team members as a "go to" person for Digital Services Training. May also be seen as an expert in the industry outside of the organization.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in Information Security
  • Experience developing curriculum for technical training
  • Experience working in communications and/or change management

Preferred

  • 10 years of relevant experience in the field
  • Progressively responsible experience analyzing customer training needs, developing and organizing training service, and providing training
  • Participant in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation
