This is a UC San Diego Internal Recruitment open to UCSD Facilities Engineering Health Staff Only Provides advanced analytical, programmatic, and policy leadership in support of the Facilities Engineering department. Leads planning, development, and administration of regulatory programs impacting the physical environment across all 3 hospital sites. Serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to leadership on Facilities Engineering regulatory readiness. This positions work directly impacts accreditation outcomes, patient safety, operational continuity, and organizational compliance. Exercises judgement, interprets regulatory requirements and collaborates across departments to ensure Facilities Engineering compliance, operational continuity and readiness. Leads Facilities Engineering regulatory and compliance efforts related to Physical Environment Joint Commission requirements. Develops and maintains regulatory systems to ensure accurate, complete and auditable documentation for critical systems (eg. fire protection, medical gas, emergency power). Analyzes failures, assigns and leads risk assessment and interim life safety measures and ensures timely corrective action and close out. Supervises and provides guidance on regulatory and compliance elements within maintenance and asset management systems (Maximo/ ATG)Serves as Facilities Engineering point of contact within the Command Center during regulatory surveys across all 3 hospital locations. Coordinates information flow and issue tracking Supervises and provides guidance on Facilities Engineering corrective actions (Plans of Correction). Designs and delivers audit-readiness education and training to Facilities Engineering staff Participates in commission activities across the 3 hospital sites for building systems including generators, medical gas, and HVAC. Assists in development of Facilities Engineering maintenance and recharge agreements and onboarding of new operational processesDevelops and delivers education, training materials, and communication plans to Facilities Engineering to improve policy understanding and reduce compliance risk.Identifies educational gaps through audits and operational reviews and implements targeted training solutions. Supervises and maintains administrative services supporting Facilities Engineering regulatory and compliance programs, including requisitions, documentation management, data entry and reporting.Advises Facilities Engineering leadership on policy interpretation, compliance strategy and risk mitigation. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
