As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage the flow of employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying credentials, issuing badges, logging activity, and coordinating entry with site teams. You will remain visible at key access points, conduct routine rounds as needed, and document security-related observations using site systems. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at vehicle and/or pedestrian entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing authorized individuals to the appropriate check-in locations.
  • Support facility access control by managing badge activation and/or temporary credentials per site policy and documenting access requests and exceptions.
  • Screen deliveries and service providers by confirming appointments, validating shipping and/or work orders, and coordinating entry with receiving and site contacts.
  • Monitor alarm panels, access control systems, and/or video surveillance to help identify unusual activity and report concerns according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing incident reports, and coordinating with on-site leadership as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help identify hazards, open doors, and/or policy violations, and report findings.
  • Support traffic control in industrial areas by guiding vehicles to approved routes, assisting with parking assignments, and helping maintain clear access for emergency vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, visitor records, and shift activity documentation, including tracking keys, radios, and other assigned equipment according to site policy.
  • Communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership, site contacts, and responding emergency services when requested, providing clear updates and following site communication protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
