As an armed Patrol Officer in a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. You will assist employees and the public with directions and service-focused support, document activity, and work as part of a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity at Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, transit-related areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor access points and public areas; assist with visitor wayfinding, queue management, and general inquiries while maintaining awareness of security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, trespassing concerns, and property-related issues.
  • Observe, document, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations using detailed written reports and/or electronic reporting tools.
  • Provide a visible presence that may help to deter unwanted activity and support an orderly environment in high-traffic public spaces.
  • Coordinate with Allied Universal supervisors, client representatives, and local public agency personnel to relay incident information and follow post orders.
  • Assist with access control activities such as checking identification when required, verifying authorizations, and directing deliveries and/or contractors to appropriate areas.
  • Operate site communications equipment such as radios, phones, and alarms; promptly notify appropriate contacts when escalation is needed.
  • Support crowd and traffic flow during special events, service disruptions, construction activity, and/or peak commute periods as directed by post instructions.
  • Preserve scene integrity when incidents occur by limiting access and collecting relevant observations until relieved by appropriate authorities.
  • Complete required shift documentation including patrol logs, incident reports, and handoff notes for incoming officers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
