You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and guests while using a computer and/or tablet. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the utility location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining sign-in and/or sign-out logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Screen personnel, contractors, deliveries, and service providers for authorized entry, directing them to appropriate check-in points and notifying site contacts as needed.
  • Monitor entry points, gates, and secured areas, assisting with maintaining orderly vehicle and pedestrian flow.
  • Operate access control systems such as badge readers, visitor management tools, radios, and telephones, reporting equipment issues through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public responders per post orders.
  • Complete required reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access records with accurate, timely documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for irregularities and helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, following site-specific procedures for notification and documentation.
  • Support utility operations by providing directions, answering routine questions, and maintaining a professional presence at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 or more years of security experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 or more years of age is required.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
