Job Description




As a Security Officer - Office Tower Access in Delray Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor entrances, verify credentials, manage visitor and vendor access, and help maintain orderly lobby and property activity. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce incidents, document security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with tenants and site leadership. You will thrive in a caring, agile team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a commercial real estate location.
  • Control access at building entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in and sign-out processes, and directing authorized visitors to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor and respond to access control alarms, door held open notifications, and intercom calls in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns per site procedures.
  • Operate access control systems and related technology to grant or deny entry based on authorization, and document exceptions per policy.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, lobbies, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting and reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, trespassing concerns, and unauthorized access attempts, while following post orders and reporting requirements.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and access control documentation with accurate, timely details and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
  • Assist with vendor and contractor access by confirming work authorization, directing deliveries to designated areas, and coordinating with property management when needed.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations and shelter-in-place by providing directions to occupants and/or coordinating with site contacts and public responders per policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with customer service is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
