As a Security Officer - Mall Interior Rover in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a high-traffic retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and tenants, respond to concerns, and document observations using a computer and/or tablet. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, post orders, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and property-related concerns.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, entrances, loading areas, and the building perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor flow, providing directions and assistance while watching for suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
- Complete routine checks of doors, gates, and secured areas, reporting maintenance concerns such as lighting outages, damaged locks, and trip hazards to the appropriate contacts.
- Write clear, timely reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, using required logs and report systems.
- Support loss prevention and crowd management efforts by observing retail activity, coordinating with store teams as directed, and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
- Operate communications equipment and maintain contact with site management and/or emergency services as needed.
- Assist with emergency procedures such as evacuations, sheltering, and customer assistance during alarms or changing conditions, following site instructions.
- Provide escort and presence as requested for employees, vendors, and deliveries, while maintaining a professional, customer-focused demeanor.
Minimum Requirements: - - Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- - Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
- - Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- - Having CPR Certification is preferred.
- - Having customer service experience is preferred.
- - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
