As a Security Officer - Flex Data Center Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cutting-edge tech and telecom location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control with badge checks as needed. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, respond to concerns, and document activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and visitors while following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies.
  • Control access to the location by verifying identification, authorizations, and appointments; issue visitor credentials when directed by site policy.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, data halls support areas, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other site systems as assigned, and communicate observations to the appropriate site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire panels, equipment alarms, and disruptive behavior, within the scope of training and post orders.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and service calls in written reports and electronic logs with clear, factual details.
  • Assist with key, badge, and access credential accountability processes as directed, including logging issuance and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including directing people to muster locations, maintaining access for responders, and relaying information to site leadership.
  • Perform perimeter and interior checks for unsecured doors, gates, and sensitive areas; report conditions requiring maintenance and/or follow-up.
  • Coordinate with site operations teams and other Allied Universal personnel via radio, phone, and email to relay status updates and requests for assistance.
  • Enforce site rules related to parking, delivery routing, restricted areas, and visitor conduct in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional presence at all times, including adherence to uniform standards, customer service expectations, and confidentiality requirements for a technology-focused location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
