We are seeking a motivated and safetyfocused Station Operator I to join our team. In this role, you'll learn and build the core skills needed to operate critical station equipment, monitor system performance, and support safe, reliable gas compression operations. You'll work handson with compressors, auxiliary systems, and station equipment to help keep our operations running efficiently.

What You Will Do:

  • Operate station prime movers and compressors, including start/stop, load adjustments, alarm monitoring, and initial response to system issues.

  • Monitor operating variables during normal operations and conduct routine checks on air, fuel, cooling water, oil, and safety systems.

  • Set up station operations based on system demand and operate auxiliary equipment.

  • Operate all station valves and monitor filter and liquid storage systems.

  • Monitor pressures, alarms, flows, and station conditions throughout the shift.

  • Perform routine facility tasks including housekeeping, cleaning, equipment painting, and groundskeeping (mowing, trimming, weed control).

  • Safely operate forklifts, tractors, and other approved equipment.

  • Load and unload trucks, materials, and assist mechanics, electricians, and maintenance teams as needed.

  • Serve as the first responder to operational issues, troubleshoot station abnormalities, communicate findings, and document actions in accordance with company requirements.

  • Complete operational reports accurately and on time.

  • Perform assigned environmental compliance tasks and required documentation.

  • Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and O&M Manuals in alignment with PHMSA, EPA, and company requirements.

  • Participate in training, safety meetings, and operational reviews.

  • Work professionally with coworkers, contractors, landowners, first responders, and Gas Control.

Who you are:

You have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Minimal experience required - willingness to learn is essential.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a team.

  • Eager to grow your technical knowledge and advance within the Station Operator progression.

  • Comfortable performing physical work and operating equipment in outdoor environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily outdoor field work with some indoor tasks for meetings, training, and documentation.

  • Work in all types of weather and perform physically demanding activities.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, rotating 12hour shifts, and travel overnight when required.

  • Must currently reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Barton station.

Company-Sponsored International Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to Grasping, kneeling, light-moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read the fine print), hearing requirement. Mobility to walk in outdoor conditions that occasionally involve uneven and slippery terrain and to enter and exit excavations. Agility can ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet, legs, and/or hands and arms.

Include but are not limited to the Ability to: understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information; understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions; organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology; organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
