We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Architecture Lead within the Digital Channels Platform. This role is in Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Play a key role in aligning internal and external stakeholders on the architecture/infrastructure aspect of the Platform strategy and delivery roadmap
- Own Architecture specific policies, roles and responsibilities within the Platform
Review application/system designs to approve based on alignment to enterprise standards. Advise on how best to design overall solutions - Monitor and report the status of the products/projects and applications within Platform to ensure alignment with the strategic direction of BNY, industry standards and best practices
- Responsible for aggregating and analyzing architecture operational reports, KPIs and KRIs
- Consider cross platform dependencies in the overall platform technical architecture
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 15 plus years of experience in architecture, systems design, infrastructure architecture and cybersecurity leadership
- Operate in and influence a federated ecosystem of design, product and engineering teams
- Experience architecting large scale portal experiences including data architecture, API design and entitlement management
- Core Java, JAVA 11 and above, Object Oriented Programming concepts, Spring, Spring boot, hibernate, RDBMS (Oracle), SQL, Gitlab, Docker, CI/CD, S3
- Understanding of JVM, memory usage, performance testing and tuning
- Understand microservices based, scalable architecture (previous experience with Kafka)
- Hands-on experience in micro-frontend architecture and frameworks like Angular or ReactJS
- Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency. Experience implementing caching (using Hazelcast/ ehcache / Memcached/others)
- Basic Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and RESTful web services

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $142,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
