About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Security Manager to lead our physical security operations team in Redwood City. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing global security standards, driving operational excellence, and fostering a safe environment for our employees, contractors, and guests. This role requires an experienced leader capable of building strong internal and external partnerships and delivering results through collaborative teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of security professionals.

  • Champion Salesforce values

  • Security Operations Management:
  • Serve as the Physical Security Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned Area of Responsibility (AoR).

  • Oversee the maintenance of critical physical security programs, including access control, guard force staffing, and enterprise risk management policies.

  • Implement operations consistent with global security standards and ensure direct enforcement.

  • Coordinate effectively and consistently to achieve both long-term and short-term security operations objectives.

  • Assist with managing associated contracts, resources, and security vendors.

  • Schedule quarterly business reviews, capture metrics, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Emergency Response & Training:
  • Lead the execution of the Security Operations emergency response plan.

  • Plan, schedule, and lead training sessions, including tabletop exercises and live drills.

  • Documentation & Compliance:

  • Build, update, and refresh security documentation, including site procedures and operations plans to align with existing GS&S security operations standards, policies and procedures.

  • Partnership & Threat Mitigation:
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal partners (e.g., Real Estate & Workplace Services, Health & Safety, Resilience, Executive leadership).

  • Cultivate relationships with federal, state, and local Law Enforcement agencies.

  • Mitigate workplace violence through proactive local intelligence collection, policy development, and coordination with internal business partners.

  • Event Security & Investigations:
  • Plan, direct, and drive event security for small to medium-sized in-region/on-campus events.

  • Provide support for large, public-facing events in the region as necessary.

  • Assist with the investigation of incidents within the assigned AoR.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Overall experience of 10+ years in security or closely related services in the public or private sector.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a successful team with a focus on operations, training, and budgeting.

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced corporate environment is required.

  • Skills & Attributes:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide decisive leadership during high-stress situations.

  • Exceptional presentation, writing, research, and analysis skills.

  • Bachelor's degree required (Criminal Justice or Security Management).

  • Program Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with Salesforce as a leading AI CRM.

  • Familiarity with or willingness to become proficient in multiple aspects of a Corporate Security program beyond Operations, including:

  • Risk Intelligence and Threat Monitoring

  • Event Security

  • Investigations

  • Executive Protection

  • Security Systems Technology

  • Project Management

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $117,400 - $177,600 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $140,900 - $193,700 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
