Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP seeks an Associate in New York, NY to work in the firm's International Litigation and Arbitration Group. Requires a Juris Doctor degree, Master of Laws degree, or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience resolving international disputes, including commercial disputes and claims of expropriation and other investor/state matters; advising multinational conglomerates on potential investment structures under different international treaties; preparing witnesses and experts for cross-examination before various international arbitration fora, including the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), International Arbitration Center of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA); working with damages experts on damages calculations; representing clients from different international jurisdictions in pre-arbitration stages, including reviewing the underlying contracts, rules, treaties, and documents to assess risks and liabilities; and, reviewing contracts and advising clients on strategy for performance, termination, and renegotiation under applicable law including cases administered by ICSID, PCA, ICC, ICDR (International Centre for Dispute Resolution), and local arbitration fora including LCIA (London Court of International Arbitration), SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Center), and CMAP (Centre de Mediation et d'Arbitrage de Paris). Must be admitted to practice law in the state of New York. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.

The starting base salary for this New York position is expected to be between $420,000 to $435,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
