Description

We are seeking a Programmer to write readable, maintainable code and to test/debug assigned projects on the IBM-i system. This role supports both internal development and custom programming for credit unions, partnering with teams like Client Services and Professional Services to ensure end-user goals are met.

*Not a remote position

*Must have proven experience with RPG language

What You'll Do

  • Develop and support programs on the IBM-i platform using: RPGLE (including free-form and embedded SQL), CLLE, DDL / DDS
  • Follow internal development practices outlined in Programming Standards and Guidelines
  • Complete work by deadlines assigned by management
  • Collaborate effectively as part of the Programming Team
  • Stay current on IBM i OS versions, language updates, and industry releases
  • Apply sound judgment to analyze issues, evaluate risks/benefits, and determine best solutions
  • Manage multiple priorities and handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving business needs

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (business/IT/project management) OR equivalent experience (Equivalent = 2-3+ years professional programming experience)
  • 1-3 years of related financial services programming experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of: RPGLE, CLLE, DDL, SQL, and modular coding practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with external clients and internal staff
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive data
  • Ability to work effectively with other CU*Answers teams
  • Basic understanding of communications used for data transmission
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (PC workstation, phone, copier, etc.)
