Work Schedule:

Onsite - Buffalo, NY Moog Defense Group is recruiting for a Quality Engineering Technician to join the team in East Aurora.The Quality Technician should be self-motivated and can follow through on assignments with limited supervision. Must have the ability to work on several assignments and/or programs concurrently. To be considered for the Quality Engineering Technician role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Associate's degree in engineering/ analytical/ scientific or similar STEM is required and 0-3 years of experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Candidates local to WNY area preferred. Relocation will not be provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in statistical methods to develop unique solutions to continuous improvement and process monitoring
  • Experience in reading engineering drawings or equivalent, using precision measuring equipment, and working with various quality standards
  • First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
  • Experience writing and tracking nonconformances and correct actions
  • Familiar with AS9100 specifications
As a Quality Engineering Technician you will be responsible for the following:
  • Inspection/Quality Planning: Implement and monitor production inspection plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing, assembly & test, engineering procedures and first article inspection plans. This may include the performance of physical inspections, process capability studies, gauge capability studies, and/or implementation of statistical process control plans.
  • Contract Compliance: Maintain compliance with contractual changes related to quality.
  • Project Support: Perform routine technical tasks such as product/process improvement studies, and the development of new systems and procedures.
  • Training/Auditing: Assist in the administration of training certifications for site personnel and in the training and assessment of functional groups in the areas of quality requirements and other Quality related subjects.
  • Technical Support: Apply basic problem-solving techniquesto assist in the resolution of fabrication, and field related problems.
  • Collecting and analyzing data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Frequent personal contact with customers andteams require critical interpersonal skills, writing skills, tact, and persuasiveness.
  • Support on-site customer inspections
  • Implementing of statistical process control plans, writing of failure analysis reports, performing preliminary material review, providing customer interface, audit support, configuration control activities, traceability documentation, returned unit support, and contamination control activities.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $28.00-$37.00 Hourly

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
