Summary:

The IS Disaster Recovery Senior Analyst supports the Information Systems Disaster Recovery (ISDR) Program by planning, coordinating, and executing disaster recovery activities to ensure critical systems can be restored within defined recovery objectives. This role works closely with technical, business, and vendor partners to strengthen organizational resilience and recovery readiness.

While primarily focused on Disaster Recovery, this role also has the capability to support Major Incident Management activities during high-impact IT events. In these situations, the analyst may function in a Major Incident Analyst capacity, assisting with coordination, impact assessment, documentation, and communications to support rapid service restoration.

Key Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery (Primary Focus)

  • Support planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the ISDR Program.

  • Coordinate and participate in DR exercises and real-time recovery activations.

  • Guide technical teams in developing, validating, and maintaining recovery plans and runbooks.

  • Support onboarding of new applications, systems, and technologies into the DR portfolio.

  • Identify recovery risks, track remediation efforts, and provide status reporting.

  • Produce technical documentation, procedures, and executive-level reporting related to DR readiness.

Major Incident Support (Secondary / As Needed)

  • Support major incident response during high-severity IT outages.

  • Assist with incident triage, recovery feasibility assessment, and escalation.

  • Provide structured documentation, timelines, and status updates during incidents.

  • Participate in post-incident reviews and ensure lessons learned inform DR improvements.

Major Incident responsibilities are event-driven and do not replace the primary Disaster Recovery focus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience required
    or

  • Associate's Degreeand 6 years of Information Systems experience required
    or

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Systems and High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 2 years within the Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity space required

  • CBCP certification via DRII required (or obtained within first 6 months)

  • Healthcare, project management, and IS/Business degrees preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity processes and tools.

  • Working knowledge of Major Incident Management concepts and workflows.

  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and perform under pressure during planned and unplanned events.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
