Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Chemist to support projects nationwide, with sampling and testing related project experience in the Federal sector. Preferred candidates will have experience in preparing and overseeing implementation of sampling and QA/QC processes following Quality Assurance Project Plans for the collection and analysis of water samples. Must have experience with EPA's data quality objectives, operation of field laboratory analysis of water samples, calibration, maintenance and use of field screening devices/meters. Must be a clear communicator and able to maintain written logs and provide documentation to support project objectives.

*Please note, this is a deployment-based position. Remote work is not permitted for this role.

Responsibilities

    Prepare and oversee implementation of sampling and QA/QC elements for the Quality Assurance Project Plan
  • Determine, in consultation with management, the appropriate type and quality of analyses to be performed to attain EPA's data quality objectives.
  • Operate a field laboratory for analysis of water samples, as necessary.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and use field screening device/meters. Interpret data and evaluate field results.
  • Keep a written log of activities on sampling and analytical results. Prepare written technical reports of sampling, survey, treatability, and analyses.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Master's degree in chemistry or related field
  • 3+ years of relative experience
  • Proficiency with field laboratory equipment, calibration, maintenance, and testing of water samples
  • Proficiency in created detailed reports related to water sampling, treatment, and analysis.
  • Excellent communications and client relations skills
  • Must have the ability to work as a team player
  • Clean driving record
