Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The International Student Advisor at the Office of International Student and Scholar Services will serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) as determined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and an Alternate Responsible Office (ARO) as determined by the U.S. Department of State. Specifically, the Advisor will be responsible for:
Specific Responsibilities:
Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Information Systems or related field; 1-2 years of experience in international education in an educational setting; Knowledge of all student visa categories and federal regulations. Experience with student and/or scholar programming in a multicultural environment. Must be U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and meet Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official requirements. Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.) Must be detailed oriented Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work with teams in a high-volume and outcome-based environment Demonstrated ability to communicate across cultures Ability to manage confidential information Approaches work with a positive attitude Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field 2 years of direct experience with F and J regulations and SEVIS system Fluency in a global language other than English Experience in designing and delivering large group presentations, workshops and professional meetings.
