The Audrey Geisel University House (Geisel House) is the official residence of the Chancellor of the University of California San Diego and serves as a venue throughout the year for wide-ranging events hosted by the Chancellor and Associate of the Chancellor, bringing the campus' highest level donors, friends, and potential supporters to campus to experience UC San Diego. A unit within the Chancellor's office, Audrey Geisel University House includes the staff necessary to maintain a residence for the Chancellor and family, overseeing facilities and maintenance staff for a structure on the California Register of Historical Resources and the National Historic Register. The site of Geisel House has been designated as a Sanctified Native American Cemetery by tribes in the Kumeyaay band. POSITION DESCRIPTIONReporting to the Director of Audrey Geisel University House, performs semi-skilled and skilled cleaning duties. Under supervision, responsible for the housekeeping of the Audrey Geisel University House residence of the Chancellor, Associate of the Chancellor and family. Operates vacuum cleaners and floor machines. Duties include damp/dust mop, sweep, vacuum, wax and buff floors, polish, empty trash, move and arrange furniture, wash windows, clean rooms and furniture, clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen, and appliances. Performs specialized cleaning applicable to a historical residence. Assists in preparations for official functions and events hosted at Audrey Geisel University House. Responsible for safeguarding assigned keys and care/operation of custodial supplies and equipment. Makes reports on building, equipment and supplies needs. Responds to routine and emergency work requests from supervisor, staff, residents, maintenance, and police department as needed. Provides customer service to residents and guests as needed. Positive interaction with staff, residents, and guests is required. Discretion to protect sensitive information related to all activities at Audrey Geisel University House and the privacy of its residents and guests is required. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $43,952 - $54,685 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $21.05 - $26.19 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
