Position Overview
The IT Analyst plays a vital role within KU Information Technology by serving as the Change Manager for the organization's IT change management process and by supporting the creation, maintenance, and ongoing development of technical documentation and business intelligence processes across the department. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating communication related to IT changes, ensuring compliance with established change management processes, developing technical documentation, and supporting the IT Knowledge Base. The IT Analyst works closely with campus stakeholders, IT service providers, and IT leadership to ensure that new and existing IT processes align with institutional needs and strategic initiatives.

Job Description
60% - Technical Documentation & Business Intelligence:
  • Work within a team to develop and implement technical and procedural documentation.
  • Maintain, administer, and assist in troubleshooting knowledge base systems.
  • Create and develop new documentation that details features and procedures for IT systems.
  • Provide periodic and cyclical review of existing documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work across teams to enhance documentation practices and procedures.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting IT operational metrics to support decision-making.
20% - Change Management:
  • Schedule and create the agenda for weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Facilitate weekly CAB meetings and document key decisions and action items.
  • Ensure all change submissions comply with established policies and procedures for IT change management.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance change management efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CAB members to support decision-making, track progress, and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate communication about changes when necessary.
15% - Strategic Planning & Enterprise Initiatives:
  • Engage in enterprise initiatives and strategic planning efforts as directed.
  • Participate in project management efforts as assigned by IT leadership, including documentation and process standardization.
5% - Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  1. High school diploma\\GED and four years relevant professional experience, or an associate's degree and two years of relevant professional experience, or a bachelor's degree.
  2. One year of experience of coordinating IT change management processes or similar structured processes.
  3. Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation as evidenced in application materials.
  4. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in a technology related field.
  2. Experience working with or administering knowledge base or content management systems (e.g. TDX, ServiceNow, etc.) as evidenced in application materials.
  3. One year experience in project management or a related field.
  4. At least one year of professional experience with:
  • Supporting Windows or Mac operating systems.
  • Implementing and managing information technology systems.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy
  • A ticket management system such as TDX or ServiceNow
  • Troubleshooting network issues / network management in an enterprise network.
  1. IT work experience at a higher education institution.
