Inventory Coordinator

Purpose: To contribute to maximizing corporate profitability by keeping the production work centers staged with the materials and supplies needed to manufacture scheduled product. Serving as the champion of our IQMS and inventory systems, maintain accuracy in the IQMS system across all shifts by training and mentoring the material handlers on proper usage and data entry into IQMS. This is accomplished through: attention to detail, physical effort, knowledge of materials and their applications, complete and accurate record keeping and good common sense.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of the ES Plastics manufacturing team, focusing on continual improvement in the materials department and inventory systems.
  • Coordinate material moves from the offsite warehouse to insure material is always available for production.
  • Cycle count resins and supplies as needed to ensure accurate inventories and maintain accurate data entry into the IQMS system.
  • Serve as the first shift material handler during absences and vacation times.
  • Accessing, cleaning, changing, of drying equipment, material receivers, and loading equipment.
  • Troubleshooting minor problems with loading, mixing, and drying equipment.
  • Help reduce inventory of regrind by working in the grinding room and staging regrind whenever possible for production jobs.
  • Any other duties as assigned including but not limited to. Helping with breaks, running a machine, taking part and being involved with annual inventory, helping with rework or secondary operations.



Job Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Internal Training: Lock-out/Tag-out, hazard communication, forklift safety, loading system operation and troubleshooting.


Skills/Abilities:

  • Desire and ability to learn.
  • Enthusiasm, reliability, integrity, self-motivation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Training and experience in areas of essential job junctions.
  • Desire and willingness to train others.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform work from ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Willingness to overlap onto other shifts when needed.


Nature of position:

  • This position reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Eye protection, steel toed shoes, and other protective equipment are required as the situation dictates.


The Inventory Coordinator must be extremely detail oriented. Maintaining a clean environment and accurate inventories to assure machines can run targeted efficiencies and utilization is vital to this position. A positive example must be set by this individual as a high level of visibility is a component of this position.
