Position Summary


The First Team Lead Analyst will be key in providing support to the First Team Coaching Staff using both video and data analysis to provide valuable insights to impact team performance. This position will work closely with the Technical Staff and be responsible for leading aspects of video and data processes. This role will specifically provide insight and analysis in pre-match scouting, live-match analysis, and post-match review. The First Team Lead Analyst will lead the analysis workflows managing and mentoring analysts within the First Team, Second Team, and Academy.



Primary Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties:



Pre-Match: Opponent Scouting and Training Sessions



  • Assist in pre-match opposition analysis including coding of games that align with our club principles. Providing clips to coaching staff who will then review and condense it for final presentation.
  • Assist in preparing scouting reports and presentations.
  • Individual player analysis for opposition.


  • Coding training to our team principles and phases of play, picking out key moments for coaching staff to review



Live-Match: Coding Match to Our Style of Play



  • Live code the match to our team principles and phases of play.
  • Support technical staff from booth upstairs communicating and sending key tactical moments down to bench.


  • Collaboration with staff to get clips ready for halftime.



Post-Match: Match Review and Analysis Using Data and Video



  • Assist in post-match analysis by reviewing and having clips ready for coaches' meetings and team meetings
  • Assist in creating detailed presentation for debrief with team
  • Manage Hudl Library and disseminate individual clips to players.
  • Work with coaching staff to review match using video and data.
  • Ability to use data to evaluate trends and objectively analyze how closely we are matching up to our game model.
  • Providing video and data support to coaching staff for any IDP processes.



Technology Management



  • Managing all video analysis software and equipment to maximize efficiency and delivery of video to coaching staff immediately after training and matches.


  • Stay current with global best practices in technology, software, platforms and methodologies as it relates to performance analysis



Minimum Qualifications



  • 3+ years of work experience as an Analyst working with Hudl, SportsCode, Studio, and Wyscout.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively give messages to coaches and players.
  • Experience pulling and integrating data into weekly workflow.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel).
  • Preferred experience flying a drone.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Flexible depending on team's schedule including evenings/weekends and travel to away games as needed.

  • Discretion and trustworthiness related to sensitive club-related material.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group and handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to react quickly and positively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with carefully and with sensitivity.



Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  • Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.
  • Lift at least 20 pounds.



Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outside in stadium facility environments. Candidate must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to work remotely as assigned by management and based on current business needs.
