Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and fast-paced Logistics Coordinator to support daily freight operations while partnering closely with the sales team. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, negotiating $/mile rates with truck drivers and carriers, and ensuring loads move efficiently from origin to destination. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, communicates confidently with truckers, and understands the balance between service, margin, and speed. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage daily freight movements across multiple lanes Negotiate competitive $/mile rates with truck drivers and carriers to secure capacity while protecting margins Build and maintain strong relationships with owner-operators and carrier partners Provide sales support by assisting account managers with pricing, load coverage, and customer updates Track shipments from pickup to delivery, proactively resolving delays or issues Communicate load details, rate confirmations, and delivery expectations clearly to carriers Update TMS and internal systems with accurate load and carrier information Monitor market conditions, lane trends, and capacity to support pricing decisions Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and customer service teams Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation coordination Proven experience negotiating $/mile rates with truck drivers or carriers Strong understanding of freight lanes, market pricing, and capacity trends Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Proficiency with TMS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills Preferred Skills Experience supporting a sales team or working alongside freight brokers Established carrier network Knowledge of dry van, reefer, or flatbed freight (specify if needed) Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
