Responsible for assisting in SPOA's administrative tasks in streamlining referrals for Assertive Community Treatment and Strengths - Based Case Management programs. Ensures that the team has timely access to pivotal information to keep the program running resourcefully and promote seamless team productivity. This role will support the daily operations, phone coverage, data entry, reporting and organization of workflow and operations. Efficiently complete tasks based on the SPOA task schedule, this includes but is not limited to the primary responsibilities listed below.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

This will be paid on-the-job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST from Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the group inbox and provide timely follow - up to internal and external partners and consumers, as needed
  • Support in the review of referrals for accuracy and completeness and enter accurate data entry of referral information into designated database
  • Take inbound calls and return voicemails. Will screen callers seeking to qualify for programs and if qualified, will complete referrals for those callers
  • Will provide timely follow - up to providers, community partners and clients, as needed
  • Navigate the county's Electronic Health Record (SmartCare) to support clinical staff in referral review; It is required that access be granted and maintained for the San Diego County's electronic Health Record database, to include other relevant databases
  • Assist in preparation for meetings, presentations and meeting minutes
  • Prepare documents and spreadsheets as requested
  • Assist with projects and reports as requested
  • Support the implementation of data collection and tracking information regarding referrals, and reporting back to county partners
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established timelines and objectives
  • Update the internal SPOA website
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of Customer Service experience in a related environment (i.e., office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.), using phones and computers as the primary job tools
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs including Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft OneNote
  • Ability to work any of our full time, shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST from Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with working in the County of San Diego Behavioral Health System
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medi-Care

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within commutable distance to the office to Mission Valley, CA 92108
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 - $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
