Job Summary:

The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) currently seeks a per-diem licensed Neuropsychologist who will work within the MIBH interdisciplinary team. The responsibilities of this position focus on direct patient care.

The Neuropsychologist will serve as an independent healthcare provider of clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology with specialized knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with mild to moderate TBI and behavioral health comorbidities. The rehabilitation neuropsychologist will use psychological, neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological principles, techniques and tests to evaluate patients' cognitive, behavioral, and emotional strengths and weaknesses and their relationship to normal and abnormal central nervous system functioning. These data will be utilized for differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and team consultation and collaboration. In addition, the neuropsychologist will provide interventions to assist the patients with adapting and adjusting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conducting outpatient neuropsychological evaluations including:

o Reviewing medical records in preparation for assessment and treatment

o Providing comprehensive assessment relevant to the patient's presenting concerns and treatment goals.

o Interpreting neuropsychological and psychological data within the context of complex medical histories

o Communicating assessment results verbally and in writing to the patient and family and to a multi-disciplinary team of providers

* Actively consulting with, interacting with, and assisting with or co-treating patients and family members during the rehabilitation process in collaboration with the entire interdisciplinary team.

* Providing individual education and trauma informed behavioral health treatment addressing a wide range of behavioral and social aspects of brain health.

* Working independently and within an interdisciplinary team to implement a treatment plan and adjust it according to clinical needs of the patient.

* Conducting individual and group therapy, behavioral interventions, and intervention with families as part of an interdisciplinary team treatment approach.

* Working independently as well as collaboratively to implement a treatment plan appropriately and adjust it according to clinical needs of the patient.

* Preparing appropriate documentation in a timely manner of evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and charges.

* Assisting with the development of program processes, policies and procedures, and best practices.

* Working with team members to develop and manage programmatic evaluations.

* Performing all other duties as assigned.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

* Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited institution postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology.

* Board eligibility in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-CN).

* Must have or be able to obtain a license to practice psychology in the State of Colorado.

* One or more year(s) of experience in a rehabilitation psychology practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with the veteran, active-duty and/or first responder population, traumatic brain injury evaluation and rehabilitation, and co-psychological diagnoses.

* Knowledge of human development and psychological theory as it relates to traumatic brain injuries, PTS, human behavior, and addiction.

* Understanding of traumatic brain injuries and their impact on physical and psychological states and relationships and should possess relationship-building skills across a diverse range of cultural settings.

* Knowledge of and direct experience in neurotrauma, pain management, sleep health, and rehabilitation services, philosophy, and practice.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Clinical skill in assessment and psychotherapy interventions.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

* Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude.

* Ability to organize and prioritize with minimal direction and maintain a well-organized work environment.

* Ability to problem-solve, use good judgement, and work with different and difficult personalities.

* Ability to search and critically review best evidence to guide clinical decision making and effectively share knowledge with colleagues as well as communicate relevant findings in appropriate language to the general public.

* Ability to set objectives, establish priorities and follow initiatives.

* Ability to work in continually changing conditions.

* Ability to work under moderate to high levels of stress.

* Current knowledge of or willingness to learn about military culture.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficient computer skills including the ability to work with a variety of applications.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$81.14 per hour

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
