Job Description

The Senior Manager ofPaymentsOptimization(Global)willplay a critical role in enabling ourmerchant,acquirerandpartner customers to achievemarket-leadingpayment successrates.The ideal candidate is an experienced, data-fluentspecialist inomnichannelpaymentswitha track recordofincreasingtransaction approval rates throughtheimplementation of best practices andinnovativetechnologysolutions.

In this role, youwilladvisesome of the largest merchants andacquiringbanksin the world to maximize their approval rates, in collaboration with cross-functional global stakeholders, including sales, product and technical leadership.Youwillanalyse largedatasets and applyyour deep paymentsexpertisetoimproveour customers' paymentprograms.

You willbe responsible forthegrowth and successofour advisorypractice: creating deep dive analyses, presentations, leading customer engagements and overseeing a pipeline of engagements deliveredin collaboration with peers across Visa.Through this work,you'llrecommend processesandproductstooptimizecustomer's payments flows. As a subject matter expert within our business, you'll also train colleagues across the organization on best practices in payments and merchant performance,share and document your knowledge,recommend improvements to our products,and support the creation ofdata &AI toolsto increase the automation of insightsfor scale.

The role reports to theGeneral Manager, Global Network & Optimization Solutions.

Requirements:

  • Produce high-impact customer presentations by gathering and synthesizing data and insights from a variety of sources.
  • Define and scale global best practices and frameworks for client conversionoptimizationacross markets.Identifydata-driven strategies that combine market insights to improve checkout conversion and authorization performance.
  • Enablecustomer-facingteams throughasset development,enablementand trend analysis.
  • Partner with regional sales leaders to deploy GTM strategies that drive client acquisition, retention, and portfolio growth.
  • Follow through engagements to ensure implementation and adoption of recommendations.
  • Build tools and assets to support sales execution,while continuously reviewing decline drivers and industry trendstoensurethe toolkitrepresentsthe most relevant and up-to-datebest practices.
  • Champion payment optimization through strategic communications, client engagements, and ecosystem events.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Domain expertise in the payments ecosystem, including conversion optimization, consumer authentication, and tokenisation protocols.
  • Customer-facing experience such as in a consultative or strategic sales role.
  • Data fluency and experience with visualisation tools: Tableau, PowerBI.
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to extract actionable insights from large data sets and translate them into business impact.
  • Data extraction expertise - SQL, HQL, Scala, Python - and experience with environments such as Hadoop, Denodo, Oracle DB.
  • Evidence of thought leadership or recognised subject matter expertise in digital payments.
  • Experience building new programmes or practices within a large enterprise or scaled independent consulting business.
  • Proven leadership in scaling best practices and driving sales growth through strategic programme execution.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional change initiatives across global, matrixed organisations.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and influence across commercial, product, marketing, and support teams to build client-centric solutions.
  • Strategic thinker with a sharp understanding of market trends, operational metrics, and the balance between revenue growth and risk mitigation.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this positionis $152,200 to $270,800 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
