As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy transportation and logistics location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and manage entry at gates and checkpoints. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols and security-related checks, document activity, and communicate with site teams to help to deter incidents. This is a driving post, supporting an agile, reliable, people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access at gates and entry points by verifying identification, badges and/or credentials for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Register, screen and direct visitors, vendors and drivers according to site requirements, including maintaining visitor logs and issuing temporary badges when authorized.
• Coordinate vehicle and cargo flow at access points by checking appointments, bills of lading and/or shipping documents as required by site policy.
• Operate access control equipment such as gates, barriers, intercoms and credential readers, and report malfunctions for service.
• Conduct visual inspections of vehicles and personal items when authorized by site policy, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
• Monitor cameras, alarm panels and other security-related systems, and communicate observations to supervision and site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Prepare complete and accurate reports of incidents, access issues, alarms and other security-related events.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
• Provide direction to staff and visitors during emergency response activities, including assisting with evacuations, traffic routing and/or muster procedures as directed.
• Maintain a professional presence and follow Allied Universal standards for appearance, customer service and post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• - Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• - Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
• - Be at least 21 years of age.
• - A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• - Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
