Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol in Eureka, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with strong customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting, while working as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing directions, coordinating with clinical staff, and contacting emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, waiting areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, including confirming authorization, issuing site-required credentials, and directing individuals to appropriate departments.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, and unusual conditions; document activities, incidents, and corrective actions in required reports and logs.
  • Support de-escalation efforts during disruptive behavior by using verbal intervention techniques and requesting additional assistance per site procedures.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems as assigned and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with crowd control, wayfinding, and maintaining orderly flow in high-traffic areas such as entrances, lobbies, emergency care areas, and/or reception corridors.
  • Respond to calls for assistance such as escort requests, lost and found inquiries, and locked door issues in accordance with site policy.
  • Participate in site drills and emergency procedures such as medical emergency notifications, fire alarms, evacuation support, and/or hazardous condition reporting as directed by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position is at a hospital site with vaccines.
  • Applicants should be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
