Security Officer - Data Center Patrol

As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, document activity using basic computer or tablet tools, and deliver strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and access control issues.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter points, to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and verify identification and/or authorization for entry, following visitor management and badging procedures as required by site policy.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems as assigned, and report irregular conditions for follow-up.
• Document daily activities, patrol observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns in written reports and/or electronic logs.
• Assist with screening and routing of deliveries and service providers, including coordinating with site contacts for access to restricted areas.
• Support building opening and closing procedures, including checking doors, gates, and common areas for irregularities.
• Communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision, site representatives, and local emergency response agencies when needed, using radios, phones, and/or computer-based systems.
• Participate in site briefings and complete required training to stay current on post orders, emergency procedures, and technology-related operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• - Be at least 21 years of age.
• - CPR certification is preferred.
• - Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• - Customer service experience is preferred.
• - Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
