As a Security Officer, you will staff entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and vehicle flow, and document activity while staying visible to help reduce security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor badges, and directing authorized visitors, contractors, and deliveries to the proper locations.
  • Screen packages, tools, and materials entering and leaving the site in accordance with site-specific policies, and document approvals and exceptions as required.
  • Operate access control systems such as gates, badge readers, key control, and visitor management logs, and report equipment issues through the approved process.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and site personnel to confirm access permissions, escort requirements, and restricted-area rules.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access violations, suspicious activity, and/or medical emergencies, and notify appropriate contacts per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production-adjacent areas, and the perimeter as required by the post assignment. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, including incident reports, access records, patrol observations, and follow-up actions, using required reporting tools.
  • Monitor cameras and/or alarm panels when assigned, and communicate observations and requests for assistance via radio, phone, and/or other approved methods.
  • Support compliance with site rules such as restricted items, parking controls, and traffic flow by providing clear directions and documenting noncompliance for follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a TSA Issued TWIC.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • State, County, or City Issued Security License is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
