Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Roving Patrol in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will observe and report unusual activity, assist with access control and visitor guidance, and communicate clearly with onsite teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a technology-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, work areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or credentials, monitoring visitor entry, and directing guests to appropriate check-in points as required by site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, and/or access control platforms, reporting unusual activity and escalating concerns through the proper channels.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, gates, server and equipment areas, and other restricted spaces, reporting maintenance concerns and/or suspicious conditions.
  • Provide visible presence and customer-focused assistance while enforcing site rules and/or property policies in a professional manner.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and/or shift logs with clear, accurate, and timely details.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal supervision and site contacts regarding shift activity, special instructions, and/or operational changes.
  • Support emergency and/or incident response procedures, including notifications, area control, and guiding occupants as directed by site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
