ERP Business Analyst Summary:

The ERP Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting, enhancing, and optimizing the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This position partners closely with business users, technical teams, and leadership to evaluate needs, design solutions, and ensure systems effectively support operational and strategic goals. The Analyst serves as a technofunctional expert, providing handson support, leading projects, and driving continuous improvement across multiple business functions.

This role is based on-site at UFP's Corporate Headquarters in Newburyport, MA. Regular travel is required (approximately 25% on average, up to 50% during peak periods).

ERP Business Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with business leaders and end users to review, analyze, and evaluate business processes and system requirements.
  • Translates business needs into clear functional specifications in alignment with software validation standards.
  • Leads small to complex system initiatives, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Develops test plans, executes testing activities, and ensures successful implementation of system changes and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoots ERP and application issues, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions.
  • Recommends and drives process improvements to increase efficiency, data accuracy, and overall system performance.
  • Facilitates discussions to evaluate solution options and support decision-making for system implementations.
  • Creates training materials and delivers training sessions for end users and internal teams.
  • Performs data queries using MSSQL and develops reports, dashboards, and data extracts as needed.
  • Supports data migration activities, including mapping, validation, and use of data conversion tools.
  • Contributes to technical specification documentation and may assist testing with application programming efforts.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

ERP Business Analyst Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Two to four years of experience as an ERP superuser, poweruser, or business analyst; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience strongly preferred.
  • Participation in at least one Epicor implementation or multiple implementations of other ERP platforms.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing business processes, terminology, and workflows.
  • Proficiency with MSSQL and relational database concepts; ability to query and analyze data.
  • Experience with technical report writing and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage small to midsized projects.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Highly organized, selfmotivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills (macros, complex functions).
